Keeping Children Safe in Education

Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) is the government’s key safeguarding guidance for schools and colleges in England. It explains how staff must protect children from harm, what to do if they are worried, and the legal duties schools follow to keep pupils safe.

Working Together to Safeguard Children

Working Together to Safeguard Children is national guidance that explains how different services (like schools, health, police and social care) must work together to protect children. It sets out shared responsibilities, procedures and standards so children get help early and are kept safe from harm.

Prevent Duty & Guidance

Prevent Duty guidance explains how schools help protect children from radicalisation and terrorism. It is part of safeguarding law and requires staff to notice worrying signs, work with other agencies where needed, and teach pupils safe, respectful values, including online. It does not target any religion or community.
