Wellbeing Ambassadors

OLSJ Wellbeing Ambassadors

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Gospel of Matthew

At OLSJ, we are committed to nurturing the whole child and creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every pupil can flourish academically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

We believe that pupil voice plays a vital role in promoting positive wellbeing across our school community. Through opportunities such as our Wellbeing Ambassadors, children are empowered to become active leaders who help shape and strengthen the wellbeing culture of our school.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors support the promotion of positive mental, emotional and social wellbeing by:

  • Encouraging kindness, inclusion and respect
  • Promoting healthy relationships and positive wellbeing strategies
  • Raising awareness of support available within school
  • Supporting pupil participation in wellbeing initiatives
  • Helping all children feel safe, valued and listened to

The Wellbeing Ambassadors are led by Mrs Rowe, who works closely with pupils to guide and support their leadership role within the school community. Through weekly meetings, ambassadors work collaboratively to identify wellbeing priorities, plan initiatives and share important messages with classes and assemblies.

This leadership opportunity helps children develop:

  • Confidence and communication skills
  • Responsibility and teamwork
  • Empathy and compassion
  • Resilience and emotional awareness
  • Leadership and active citizenship

Our wellbeing provision is closely linked to our PSHE curriculum and wider personal development offer, ensuring children are equipped with the knowledge, understanding and strategies they need to support both themselves and others.

At OLSJ, we strive to create a community where every child feels respected, supported and empowered to thrive.
