EYFS Carnival 2023!

This week we enjoyed our carnival parade in celebration of Black History Month. We wore the T-shirts we have been busy painting and designing, and we also decorated hats to wear! We had lots of fun dancing and singing the Ghanaian song we have been learning ‘Kye Kye Kule’.

In RE we have been learning about Baptism. Thank you for sending in photographs of your children’s Baptisms. We enjoyed looking at them and sharing them with the class. We had a very special visit in Nursery from Father Andrew. We learned about the Font, the Holy Water, the two different oils, and the importance of a candle signifying the light of Christ has entered our life. Then we role-played a Baptism service with Mummy, Daddy, baby ‘Janet’ and two Godparents!

To celebrate the Month of Mary, we went to Mary’s garden and prayed the short version of the Rosary; “Mary our Mother Pray for Us”. We made the Sign of the Cross, and we talked about who Mary is and remembered her.

In maths we have been practising counting the fruits in Handa’s basket, singing number songs, and playing missing number games.

In literacy we have been reading the book ‘Nini at the Carnival’, in preparation for our own carnival!

Have a wonderful half term holiday! The Nursery Team.
