This weeks learning in Nursery 26/3/21 😀

As Easter approaches we have been very focused on learning all about the Easter story. The children enjoyed lots of activities surrounding the Easter story such as retelling the story using picture cards, collaging their own crucifix, designing their Easter cards along with lots of Easter egg themed maths games. In phonics this week the children continued to wow us with their amazing learning. This week we learnt the ‘a’ sound. They are really picking the sounds up well and are really enjoying making lots of silly soup. The children are really loving their free flow play and have been very busy exploring lots of different activities both inside and outdoor take a look at this weeks photos!😀

Friday 19th March 😊

What a fantastic week we have all had in Nursery. It has been great to continue welcoming back all of our friends. The children really have missed each other and it has been so nice to see those friendships resume.

The children have been very busy this week participating in lots of different activities. Our story of the week was The Gingerbread Man and the children enjoyed collaging their own gingerbread men. Additionally they used playdough to make buttons for our gingerbread templates using their counting and number skills so that the amount of buttons corresponded with the number displayed on the template. For Maths this week we explored capacity using both sand and water, practising our empty/full language. In RE this week we were excited to learn all about St Patrick and the children really enjoyed taking part in some Irish dancing and colouring in our clovers. For phonics this week we were brave and started to learn our ‘S’ sound. We played ‘silly soup’ and the children really did well and worked hard to learn and recognise this sound. We were super lucky to have some great weather this week and the children adored being outside and engaging in lots of outdoor activities. We wish you all a lovely weekend!
