Klimt inspired work in year 2
In year 2 we looked at work by by Gustav Klimt. We practised making different patterns and creating different lines. Here are some of the results.
Stone Age Art in Year 3
Year 3 have been learning about the Stone Age and looked at the Art produced all those years ago and had a go at creating our own Lion Man.
Coat of Arms in Year 4
Year 4 looked at symbolism and created their own coat of arms using clay. The children explored using different tools to create different textures.
Royal Academy Young Artist’ Summer Show
Enter the Royal Academy Young Artists’ Summer Show Competition for your chance to exhibit at the Royal Academy.
All Art work must be original and can be made using any material; it can be a painting, sculpture, photograph, installation, video, drawing or a combination. There is no theme so artwork can be of any subject.
Your artwork will be seen by our panel of judges and the selected pieces will be shown in our online exhibition. Some of the artworks will also be shown at the Royal Academy of Arts. Only one submission per child.
Submission deadline: 30th March 2022
How to Submit: Online. If you would like the school to submit on your behalf; please send a good quality picture of the Art piece to Reception@olsj.co.uk with the following details: your child’s name, age, title of the art piece, size, and a little text about the artwork and why it was made. Alternatively you can register as a parent and make your own submission.

Art work will be judged online through photographs. It is important that the photos are a true representation of the work. Here are some guidelines for taking a good photo for submission.
Please complete a permissions form when entering the competition. Your child’s class teacher will be able to print a copy for you.
