Last full week in Nursery!

This week Nursery children have been enjoying the good weather in our lovely garden! Apart from playing water games, the children were exploring the sandpit area and doing lots of building games 🙂

This week we have focused in letter “u” and some children were able to find the letter in different books… well done! We have also looked at different objects starting with the u sound and tried to find other words with the same sound independently.

for Maths, we looked into capacity again; learning keywords as nearly full, almost empty, … We have used sand and water in different sized containers, to help us learn about this.

This week we also had Transition morning into Reception. Children met their new Reception teacher and explored their new class. It was such an exciting morning for them 🙂

Here is this week’s newsletter:

In Shared reading, we have read ” A new dog” book and the children were able to remember some of the high frequency words that we have been learning since Spring 1; please, keep practicing at home the 20 words we have sent you with the newsletter.

In Maths, the children learnt about non standard measurements tracing over our feet and using cubes to find out how long our feet are.

With this lovely weather, children have been playing with lots of water and sand in the outdoor area. A gentle reminder of bringing summer hats and sun-cream for your children.

Thank you again for all your support at home, we really appreciate it. Have a lovely weekend.
