Thank you to all the parents that stayed for our stay and play mornings. It was lovely to see you with your child sharing their me book and doing some Christmas Crafts. The children had a great time.
This week we have been practising our nativity. This morning we did the nativity for the nursery parents wearing our Christmas Jumpers. Thank you to all the parents who attend and supported your child. They all did amazing!!! The video will be put on Friday afternoon, so you can share it with your family.
This week we have been reading the story of The tiger who came to tea. We talked about the tiger and what he had done, making links to our own behaviour. In maths, we have been learning about patterns and how they repeat. We looked at the tiger from the story and his pattern. We the created our own tigers using the tiger pattern.
This week we have been looking at our residual two snails who recently had babies. We looked at the shell, how they move and what they eat. We drew what the snails looked like and talked about them. We linked it to our RE topic of new life.
This week we have been looking at the story “Owl babies” The children enjoyed talking about how the characters were feeling and we talked about the different sized Owls. The children also made their own Owl pictures using collage material.
This week we talked about a man called Guru Nanak and how he spread the love of God to the people. The children spoke about how they could show God’s Love and shared it with the class Here are their ideas.

This week in nursery we have been learning all about Autumn. We looked at the colours we could see and created our own autumn college. In maths, we look at our shapes, rectangle, square, circle and triangle.
This week we celebrated the end of Black History month with a carnival. We wore our hats, necklaces and held our shakers that we made in class. We sang our song ‘Kye Kye Kule” as we walked around the outside area. All the children had great fun and we celebrated afterwards with a banana muffin and banana milkshake.
This Tuesday, Nursery visited Mary’s garden for the first time. We talked about Mary and Jesus. We prayed to Mary with the Hail Mary prayer. We looked at the rosary and explained what it was. The children all joined in with the prayer putting their hands together.
This week we have been exploring yellow as our colour of the week. We have been reading the story Handa’s Surprise, a story set in Africa. We talked about the different animals in the story and the fruit they took from Handa’s basket. We then painted pictures of all the lovely fruit using the correct colours.
