This week we have been learning about “Hansel and Gretel” story. The children have been cutting sweets and sticking them onto the gingerbread house. In Phonics, we have been focusing again in the letter “s”, and we worked very hard in recognizing the sound s in different words. The High Frecuency words for this week are “I ” and “a” and the children not only are able to identify and find them in the book but having a go at writing them… We feel very proud of you! 🙂 In Maths, we are learning the concept of “one more, one less”. For R.E we have read the “Lost Sheep” parabole Jesus told to his friends: we decorated a sheep and learnt that Jesus will never leave us alone. We have been very busy in Nursery this week! 🙂 In Phonics, we have introduced the letter “t” and the children have been looking around for objects starting with “t” sound, identifying the letter and having a go at writing it too. In Maths, we have explored the meaning of capacity, using scales and objects to talk about weight. We also continued to count/identify/write numbers from 0-10. The children are getting ready for Valentine’s day next week and they wrote a card and decorate it for their loved ones… we hope you like it. Have a lovely half term and please, encourage your child to do the homework before coming back to school 🙂

This week in nursery the children have had lots of fun learning all about Chinese New Year!

Some of the children went on a visit to the local market to buy some ingredients for our cooking activity. Every child helped to cut up the vegetables ready to add to our delicious noodles which most children we eager to try and very much enjoyed! Please see photos below.

This week we started our reading morning in nursery, Thank you to the parents that came we were very happy to welcome you and see you read with your child in class. This will continue every Tuesday at 8:20am-8:40am and all are welcome. We look forward to seeing you all! 😁
