The Royal Wedding!

We have had an amazing week in Nursery, getting ready to celebrate The Royal Wedding, between Prince Harry and Meghan. We decorated our own wedding cakes, dresses and created our own crowns. We even made crown biscuits from scratch. They were delicious!

We had a great time at our tea party. We ate in Mary’s Garden and had a great dance!

In addition to this, we also went into Mary’s Garden with the Year 4’s to celebrate the month of Mary by saying 10 Hail Mary’s.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Duck Crazy!

After the long weekend, we spent some time welcoming the ducks to Nursery. The children enjoyed observing, drawing and holding them.

In Maths this week we have been working on sorting objects based on different properties such as colour and shape. Take a look:

In Shared Reading we have been learning the sight words ‘I’ and ‘a’ in the book ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear. What do you see?’ We talked about what happens in the book, drew our own story maps, and took turns retelling the story to the class.

This week in Nursery…

This week, we had a class mass with Father Keith. It was wonderful for all the children to take part in the proceedings of mass, and it was also amazing to see some of the children standing up in front of the group and do the readings. We all enjoyed it very much, and would like to say thank you to all the parents who were able to attend.

We have also been very excited to watch our caterpillars grow this week! We have been watching them moving around in their pot, eating their food and growing bigger and bigger. We have been learning about the life cycle of the caterpillars, and can’t wait to see them turn into beautiful butterflies!

On Monday, our eggs arrived in their incubator! It was so exciting to watch the eggs all week, because we actually got to see them hatch, and the chicks were adorable! The tiny chicks pecked their way out of the egg shells slowly, and they looked wet and floppy when they emerged. After a while, they dried off and started looking very cute and fluffy, and we put them into their cage with their food, water and special heater. We have been watching them all week, learning about their life cycle, drawing and painting them, and we even got to hold them! What an exciting and interesting week!

Joshua Class Trip to Dominos

This week, Joshua class went on a trip to Dominos.

We braved the wet, windy weather and walked to Dominos early in the morning. When we got there, we took turns to go into the kitchen and make our own pizzas. The man who worked there showed us how he uses balls of dough to make pizza bases by stretching the dough, and then he covered each base with tomato sauce. We then got to choose whether we wanted to put cheese or pepperoni on our pizzas. After adding the toppings to our pizza bases, we watched them baking in the hot oven, and then the lady who worked there put them into their boxes.

Finally, our pizzas were delivered to school later and we got to take them home and eat them for dinner. It was so exciting and our pizzas were delicious!

Thank you to all the mums who were able to come with us on the trip and help support the children, we really do appreciate it!
