LO: To observe patterns by investigating circuits and their components.
In today’s lesson the children used the enquiry skills of pattern seeking by investigating circuits and their components. To begin with, the children played a game called ‘Needs Electricity or Not?’ In the game, several objects were placed under a sheet, the children were given time to observe these before they were recovered. Once recovered the children had to list the objects they could remember and state whether they required electricity to work.
In the lesson, the children developed the following working scientifically skills:
- I can make a prediction.
- I can gather and record my results.
- I can draw conclusions.
