Happy Monday Reception! Welcome back after our half term 🙂 We hope you had a lovely week! In story time today you can share some of your half-term news 🙂 Welcome back for our Spring 2 term 🙂

Home learning packs!Our Week 7 & 8 Home learning packs are available to collect from the school office if you haven’t collected it already…this week we are working on the week 7 pack 🙂 We are busy putting the children’s wonderful home learning in their Me Books and Writing books, thank you for returning packs week 1&2, week 3&4 and week 5&6 to us. If you haven’t return them, please try your best to do so this week 🙂

Parent information:  Phone calls : Mrs Majid will be calling today from a blocked number – please try and answer and if you can’t….. please email the reception email with a suitable time to call. It is a chance to see how you are all doing and to ask any questions. 📞

Writing: Join Miss Cheung’s writing lesson…today we are going to make a milkshake for Monster Max! Watch carefully as Miss Cheung uses her phonics skills to label her ingredients! Afterwards have a go at designing your own milkshake for Max, and remember to have a go at labelling everything you add in it!

Maths: This week we are exploring Money! Join me for today’s lesson to explore different coins! Can you name them with me?! Afterwards can you ask an adult at home to show you some real coins? Can you find a 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coin? Can you cut out and match the money to the values using the sheets in todays’ pack? We hope you have fun exploring the coins 🙂

Happy Friday Reception and Happy Chinese New Year! It is nearly time for our half-term holiday 🙂 You have all worked so hard this half term! Thank you so much to parents and carers for supporting the home-learning so well! 🙂

Home learning packs! We are now busy putting the children’s wonderful home learning in their Me Books and Writing books, thank you for returning packs 1, 2 and 3 to us. The pack for week 7 & 8 (for after half term) is available to collect from the school office today – or you can collect it on Monday 22nd February when we return from our half-term break 🙂

My favourite Animal project: Here is the link to our Google meet show and tell today at 2pm, we hope you can join us! The children will have time to share their favourite animal projects if they would like to, we hope you enjoyed seeing some of the children’s projects yesterday! 🙂 Don’t worry if you don’t have a project to share, your child can talk about their favourite animal if they would like to!

RE: This week we are learning about Jesus being a light in our world. Watch the bible story below to find out about Jesus’ light. Afterwards you might like to sing along to one our favourite songs: ‘This little light of mine’. In today’s pack you have a candle which you can decorate to remind you of Jesus’s light all around us, please share pictures of your candles to reception@olsj.co.uk

Happy Thursday! It snowed again last night, we hope you can go out to have fun in the snow at some point today! Thank you for sharing your home-learning pictures yesterday, you are working so well at home, we are very proud of you 🙂

Making Pizza’s 🙂 Would you like to have a go at making pizza at home for lunch or dinner this week, can you add your favourite toppings like the Pizza Princess? If you can, please send photos of your pizza making to reception@olsj.co.uk and we will share them here on the blog 🙂
