Last week of November

In reception we have been busy preparing for nativity. The children have come a long way. We have also been writing shopping lists, take a look below. To celebrate St Andrew’s  Day, we had a taste of shortbread and made Scottish flags.

Our Week

This week in Reception we have been busy, as always. We have been learning our sounds and have just learnt our first digraph – ‘ck’. We had a special visitor come into school – Father Keith, he told us all about baptism and we acted out what happens during this time. We have been practising the nativity and many of us have learnt our lines. We can’t wait to show everyone our hard work.

Our week

This week in Reception we have been making cards and certificates for our friends to celebrate our friendships. It is Interfaith week, to celebrate  we looked at the story of Guru Nanak, the children enjoyed acting out his story using miniature characters. To celebrate children in need we designed new Pudsey bears and did a large spot picture as a team. We have also started to practise songs for the Christmas production, the children already have some favourite songs !

We have had a busy week, learning about Diwali and Remembrance day. To celebrate Diwali, we made Divaa lamps and drew mehndi designs on our hands. For Remembrance day we made poppies out of playdough and done some printing with potatoes.

Week One of Autumn 2

Welcome back everyone. We hope you’ve all had a restful half term. This week we have started phase 2 phonics and looked at the “s, a, t and p ” sounds. We have also shared our half term news as well as Halloween celebrations.

We had a special guest this week; he told us all about being a lawyer and even let some of us try on his lawyer wig and gown. All the children were excited and listened intently.

To celebrate autumn we have been making leaf rubbings and making collages with crunchy, brown leaves.
