“Run run as fast as you can…”

We have had a busy week that started with Sports Day! We enjoyed taking part in lots of different activities:

In Literacy, we have continued learning about ‘The Gingerbread Man’. We read and followed instructions on how to make gingerbread men; we mixed the ingredients together, rolled out the dough and cut out the shapes. To our surprise, one of the gingerbread men disappeared! We looked in our classrooms and the garden and even looked for him on our way home, but he was no where to be seen! Have you seen him? Please help us look for him over the weekend!

In Maths, we have been practising our number bonds to 10 and challenged ourselves to find all the number bonds to 20.

In R.E we learned about ‘The Good Samaritan’. We read the story and talked about how we are all different and may come from different places but that we are all special and we are all God’s children. We sequenced the story and were able to recall the beginning, middle and end.

The Hungry Caterpillar Assembly

Hello Family and Friends

This week we have been busy learning about the life cycle of a butterfly.  We learnt that a butterfly starts it’s life as an egg, becomes a caterpillar and finally turns into a butterfly!  Reception Samuel performed the story of ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ in this weeks assembly.

In Maths we have been learning about symmetry and time.  We can now tell the time to o’clock and half past.  We have created our own symmetrical pictures and have learnt about the line of symmetry, ensuring both sides are the same.  Ask your child if they can draw a symmetrical picture and bring it into school.

We have been enjoying the wonderful weather; please make sure that you send your child into school with a water bottle and hat.  Thank you
