In Reception we have been baking Gingerbread man and decorating it with delicious toppings. We have realized that one of the Gingerbread man has run away… Oh no! Where can it be?

We read The Little Red Hen and worked together to bake bread. We learnt about yeast and the importance of letting the dough prove.

Here are some of the children’s responses.

In Year 1 in DT we have been learning how to design and make a product for a purpose. We focused on how to make a range of joining mechanisms to create a product. We then drew and designed different pieces of playground a range of materials. We then enjoyed playing with our playground we created!

We made playdough in Reception and experimented with using different amount of salt.

In Reception we experimented with different ways to melt ice. We looked at the difference between melting ice inside and outside.
