”In Science, I made a periscope by using 45 degree angles in a shoe box to make a periscope with mirrors- you must place the mirrors carefully.”

“In Science, we made periscope using a cereal box and mirrors. Sadly, it didn’t work at first but we eventually made it work!

How we made it:

First, we got a cereal box

Next, we had to cut the top off the cereal box

After, we had to draw out 2 outlines of the mirror on the side of the cereal box and cut out the outline to make a little flap

Then, you tape the mirrors and slanted at 45 degrees in the shoe box were the flap is

Finally, you can test it out to see if it works

We practised a series of five dance moves. We then combined these moves together into longer dance moves and eventually created our own short dance performances to music of our choice. Everyone danced fabulously!

This week, we have been learning how to say different modes of transport in French! 🚌

This week in our Science session, we planned scientific enquiries to try to answer questions about light.

Here are some of the things that we found out:

Light travels in straight lines

Today, during our music session with Miss Haswell, we learned about Grazyna Bacewicz, a Polish composer from the time of World War 2. It was not very common for a woman to be recognised for their work at this time.

During this time, in 1943, she continually played underground concerts hiding from German soldiers. Her overtures included a secret message in Morse Code. We got to discuss the message in her music, clapped the rhythm and explored the musical instruments that may have played these rhythms.

Year 6 led Mass at the church today 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
