Imagine you were a child having to spend nights in an air raid shelter. It might be a Morrison shelter indoors, an Anderson shelter in the garden, or even an Underground station in London. Write a diary entry of one night, starting from the time you go into the shelter. Think about what you would want to take with you, and how you might pass the time. How would you be feeling?

Numeracy

# Malachi Assembly

Huge congratulations to Malachi on such a successful assembly today. You all did yourselves extremely proud learning all your lines in such a short space of time and speaking with great confidence and clarity in front of the whole school. Thanks to all the parents who came too- it was great for you to see your amazing children in action!

# Y6 Homework 7/09/17- Year 6 Prefects Wanted

Year 6 Prefects WANTED! – Application deadline 12th of September 2017

That’s right! During this first half term back to school the  year 6 children will be given the opportunity to apply to become an Our Lady and St. Joseph RCS prefect.

• Are you committed to keeping Our Lady and St. Joseph RCS a happy and safe place?
• Are you responsible?
• Are you prepared to be a good role model?
• Do you understand the importance of following rules?
• Are you fair?
• Can you be an ambassador for Our Lady and St. Joseph RCS?
• Are you organised? Can you organise others?
• Would you like to get better at all the above?

If you are interested in applying then please put together a letter explaining why you should be considered for the position. Things you may like to include are:

• Why you are writing to us (paragraph 1).
• Why you want to become a school prefect (paragraph 2).
• Why you think you would be a good prefect (paragraph 3).
• What you would do as a school prefect to make our school a better place (paragraph 4).

You may want to start your application letter:

Dear Miss Lynch/Miss Finnegan,

I am writing to you to apply for the illustrious position of school prefect and explain why I am the obvious choice for the job!
