LiteracyVictorious Vikings Fact Sheet Comprehension Questions and Answers – Complete the comprehension questions about the Vikings.

Numeracydecimal fractions (cm and m) – We have been learning about decimal fractions this week. Convert the decimal numbers into fractions (focusing on 1/10 and 1/100).

Topic: Viking Homework Carousel – This week you have looked at the Vikings. For the next 2 weeks I have left a Carousel of activities for you to complete. Complete at least one activity from each category each week. I have left some examples on the second sheet to assist you.

RE: Write a diary entry imagining you were a Israelite slave experiencing the exodus.

Spellings: clearance, assistance, annoyance, ignorance, insurance, guidance, endurance, reliance, compliance.

Year 5 Run

To raise funds for trips and workshops (and to frankly get healthier), Year 5 are taking part in a sponsored run. It will also kick start our ‘Daily Mile’ initiative – to run, walk or jog for 15 minutes a day as a part of the 1 hour of exercise children are expected to take part in.

LiteracyThird Person – We have been looking at the features of journalistic writing (newspapers) and have learnt that reports are mostly written in the third person. Complete the third person worksheet to show your understanding (explanations about the second person have been left on the sheet).

NumeracyAdding and Subtracting Fractions – We have been practising adding and subtracting fractions with related denominators this week. I have left 3 levels of challenge on the worksheet (Bronze, Silver and Gold). Choose the level of difficulty of your choice and complete it.
