Our first P4C session was very successful in Year 2. We watched a video called ‘The Black Hole’ and tried our best to form philosophical questions based on this. We had a class vote and decided our focus question would be ‘Is it ok to take something that isn’t yours?’. We had a discussion around this with some children agreeing, disagreeing and building on other children’s points. It was very enjoyable!
Science Habitat Shoebox
Next half term our Science Unit is Living Things and their Environment.
Make a mini-habitat in a shoebox. It could be the desert, the jungle, the Antarctic or even an urban habitat! Make sure you research and include the plants and animals that might live in these habitats. Here are some examples:
Have a lovely half term!

Today Year 2 travelled all the ways to ‘Friends House’ in Euston to be part of the fantastic Classical Roadshow. As our topic is The Great Fire of London, we thought this trip would be a fantastic opportunity to consolidate our learning and show off our wonderful singing talents. In Music, we’d learnt the songs about The Great Fire of London with Mr Scott so everyone was very impressed with our knowledge of the songs. We really enjoyed the show and can’t wait to tell everyone about it!
Here is the homework for this week. All homework this week can be completed straight onto the sheets and put into folders.
Please read every evening and have your reading record signed. Attached is a comprehension sheet – remember to highlight or underline the answers in the text.

As it is the year of Adoremus, please try your best to learn the Westminster Prayer which has been sent home.
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Crean and Mr Hicklin.
As it is the year of Adoremus, Year 2 have been working really hard to learn the Westminster Prayer. We thought it was important to think about all the refugees around the world. As a year group, we came up with a nice idea to design cards for them and let them know we were thinking about them in our prayers. We know refugees are a lot less fortunate than us and we need to be grateful for the community in which we live in. Have a look at our fabulous cards!
