This week in science we have been investigating the question ‘Do children get faster as they get oder?’
We chose some different activities to investigate such as drinking a glass of water, completing a puzzle, running the length of the hall and doing star jumps.

This week in year 2 we have been working hard on our grammar and getting used to the new website www.spag.com the children have been learning all about different sentence types such as statements, questions, commands and exclamations.
In Esther class, the children have been learning about Non-chronological reports and they have been reading one all about whales.
In Judith class, the children have been continuing their work with addition of money.

This week the children have been working really hard on all areas of learning. Congratulations to Olek in Year 2 Esther class for being our Reading Champion this week.
Well done to Miya who received a certificate for learning her 2 times tables.
Each week the children are tested on their 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables. They will receive a certificate once they are confident on them, please keep practicing these with your child each night.
More and more children have learnt their 100, 200 and 300 key words. Keep up the fantastic work – it is lovely to be giving out so many certificates on a weekly basis.
GRAMMAR
We now have access to an online grammar site where your children can test their knowledge and skills. They have all been given a username and password today – please log on and complete the two tests that have been set. Any problems please see your child’s class teacher and we will try our best to help.

This week in RE, Year 2 have been learning all about the seven Sacraments and why they are special.
We acted out the different Sacraments and then had to guess which one we were showing. Finally, we wrote about each Sacrament and discussed why they are so important.
Have a look at the images and see if you can guess the Sacrament that each group is acting out!
We have just finished our first full week back in the new year. The children have all worked so hard and it was lovely to see them all really trying their best.
