Year 2 Spring Term

A Prayer for our new School written by Year 2 Esther.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for our wonderful new school Our Lady and St Joseph. Thank you for the teachers, the T.As and the children. Thank you for the delicious food we eat here and for the people that cook it! Thank you for our fun lessons and all the love we feel here.

Lord help us to get along, to be kind and loving to each other and to laugh! Help us to use our brains to learn and be the best we can be!

Amen

We are having a great term in Year 2! We are learning all about London, Old and New! We have spent time looking at the Fire of London and know all about Samuel Pepys.

This has led to some great pieces of writing and Art Work!

We also loved the Story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt and any one of the children in Year 2 can tell you the entire story.

Books we have read include, The Lighthouse Keeper’s lunch and now we are reading The Tunnel by Antony Brown.

We have been busy bees in Maths too! Fingers crossed we all learn out doubles and halves of numbers to 20 as well as our 2x, 5x and 10x table.

In Science we have been learning about Light and now we are looking at what plants need to grow! Hopefully we’ll grow some plants on out Balcony too! Fingers crossed the Sun keeps shining!
