28/9 Our week in Year 1

Hello Family and Friends.

This week we have been very busy.  In Literacy we have been learning about adjectives and desiring the Little Red Hen.   In Maths we have been using a tens frame to solve sums to 10.

R.E

Thank you to all the children who brought in their Baptism photographs and candles.  The children have enjoyed sharing them with the class and discussing the signs and symbols of Baptism.

This week we also visited our local Church and spent time with Father Keith.  He taught us about the different signs and symbols in the Church, including the dove to represent the Holy Sprit and the Baptismal Font which holds the Holy Water.

Science

In science we have been learning about the 5 different senses.  We learnt that we hear with our ears.  We made telephones to investigate see how far sound can travel.

Have a lovely weekend.
