Year 1 homework 29.09.16

Hi Parents and Carers,

Thank you very much for everyone who worked so hard this week and returned the children’s first homework to school on time. It was great to see the hard work that they have been doing at home!

Sentences

Your child needs to write a sentence for each of the words based on our science topic about senses.

Maths

We have been learning how to use the Part-whole model to explore number bonds. Please help your child complete the worksheet attached by giving them real objects to count.

Spellings

Please remember to support your child in practicing their High Frequency word spellings and to bring their book in each week. Can you also ensure that your child is learning how to read the 100 High Frequency words in their reading records, as this will really help improve their reading.

Reading

Please read with your child every night and sign the reading record. If you would like your child to keep the book, please just write this in their Reading Record and they can have it until they have finished reading it.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Welcome Back Year 1!

Welcome back Tobit & Ezra!

We are so proud for all the hard work you’ve done this week and how you have tried your best to follow the Golden Rules. We spent a lot of time this week perfecting our behaviour in Year 1 as well as getting used to our new surroundings and you have all done a great job!

Year 1 attended both assemblies this week as well as our opening school Mass. Everyone was so impressed with your behaviour and concentration.

Please remember to bring your reading record in on Monday and make sure it is signed to show us you have read at home. A lot of you have made a super effort to bring in your reading record  everyday so please keep it up.

We can’t wait to start all our exciting lessons next week and follow our new timetable.

We hope you have a lovely weekend and we are looking forward to seeing you back here again on Monday. 🙂

Miss Crean & Mrs Rautenbach 🙂
