This week has been really busty, we have been learning all about halving. Samuel Class pet – Paws went missing so we have been busy making posters to find him. In R.E we have been learning all about Palm Sunday, so we made out own paper palm leaves to act out the story. In addition to all of that we celebrated Science Week by doing different science experiments.
Today, Fr Keith came into Ruth Class for our class mass, the children tried their best to sing all the hymns. Thank you to all parents who came.
The children really enjoyed dressing up for World Book Day. We enjoyed reading stories throughout the day and some children even began to write their own stories. We partnered with year 3 to share a story and did some activities in pairs.
We’ve had a very busy week, we celebrated Shrove Tuesday by making pancakes and learning all about Lent. We’ve also been busy learning all about capacity. In the role play area, we have been practising to look after pets.
Reception children have been working hard to write their promise for Lent. Many children have promised to do better listening and help their parents out more at home. We are sure they will try their best.
This week the children have been working hard at recording subtraction number sentences, some children even told their own number stories. We have also been celebrating spring by doing observational drawings of daffodils; observing them as they transition from buds to flowers in full bloom.
This half term we have been learning about animals. The children thought carefully about their favourite animals and did projects at home. Some posters, models and dioramas were made. The creativity and and effort has been fantastic.
