Carnival Week

This week in Reception we have been preparing for our carnival by printing t.shirts, making colourful headbands, shakers and learning a song and dance originating from Africa. We also had fun making banana muffins.

We have also been very lucky because we had a visitor come to tell us about his job as an artist, he even helped us with our carnival t.shirts.

We’ve had a very busy week !

This week we have been reading Handa’s Surprise the children have been making patterns for her dress. The children have also been enjoying re-telling the story using animal masks and pictures. They have also been designing dresses for Handa.

In Maths we have been looking at ordering numbers, the children had the challenge to order numbers 1-20 out of sequence. Everyone has tried really hard.
