The Doctors Surgery…

Hello family and friends,

We have had a great first week back at school! We enjoyed sharing our half term holiday news with our friends and then we drew a picture and used our phonics to write some sentences.

We have enjoyed playing in our new role play area outdoors – The Doctors Surgery. We have written prescriptions, looked at X-Rays and healed our friends.

Last week of term!

It has been a busy week leading up to half term! For our final Gruffalo drama workshop we worked in pairs to put all the actions we have learned together and showcase our performances to our friends.

Also this week we were visited by a specialist on E-safety. We learned how to stay safe when using the internet by; always asking an adults permission, never giving out any information about yourself and to show an adult if you find something you don’t like. We enjoyed listening to the story ‘Chicken Clicking’ which taught us that people are not always who they say they are.

To celebrate 200 years of Catholic Education we took part in a balloon race! After receiving the go-ahead from City airport, we each let go of our balloons from the school playground and hope to hear news of how far they have travelled!

We wish you all a wonderful half term holiday!

Ocean Animals

This week we have looked at Ocean Animals based on the story; ‘Commotion in the Ocean’. We read the story and listened closely for the rhyming words. We learned about lots of different animals that live in the sea. Then we worked together in groups to make our own ocean creature models using junk modelling – it was so much fun!

Outdoors this week we enjoyed writing our own mud cake recipes. We followed our written instructions and worked together to chop, pour and stir the mud mixture creating yummy cakes!
