Year 6 Homework WB 22.06.17

Remember to practise your spellings and multiplications and to read your reading record every night (20 minutes). Please remember to get your reading record signed also – indicate the name of the book and pages being read eg. Charlie and the Glass Elevator, Pages 1 – 52. Use the web links on the year 6 page for Numeracy and Literacy games to practise your skills. Homework is due in on Tuesday the 27th of June. 

Numeracy

Please create and complete a Catchphrase grid with 25 math problems based on a topic of your choice. Remember to include answers.

Literacy (cross-curricular)

Create a catchphrase to go with your maths grid. Design a picture or text based on this, which will sit behind your question grid, and write your catchphrase below.

IT (cross-curricular)

Download the blank catchphrase powerpoint template from the school blog and use this to create your own catchphrase game. Use your question grid and catchphrase plan that you have already completed (above).

Catchphrase Maths

In year 6, we put together a grid of 25 questions on fractions and percentages for our catchphrases. We then involved the rest of the class by getting them to answer the questions. For tricky questions, we asked them to come up and show the class how they solved it.
We are excited to see what Maths topics everyone else chooses.

Spellings

Revise the year 5 and 6 spelling list (provided) in preparation for SATs next week.

Literacy

Complete both ten-minute reading comprehensions and both ten-minute grammar and punctuation tests.

Numeracy

Everyone please complete the arithmetic test 7a and both of the ten-minute math tests.

Science

Research Carl Linnaeus and write two paragraphs about him and his work. Lined paper is provided at the end of the booklet for this.
