Art project for WWII
This half term, we learnt about WWII and how people protected themselves in London and other cities during the Blitz- this was when Germany targeted large cities with bombs to destroy the workings of the country. People used shelters to keep themselves safe. The two main shelters they used were Anderson shelters and Morrison shelters. An Anderson shelter would be found in the garden and could have in it beds, foods and lamps where many people could congregate. A Morrison shelter would be found in the home and some families even used them for tables, beds and play rooms for children. There were a lot smaller and could only fit up to 6 adults.
