Science Experiment- Mentos and Coke

Year 6 got to carry out a science experiment today and predicted what would happen to a range of different fizzy drinks when mixed with mentos. The children were surprised to hear that the eruption that occurred was not a chemical reaction, rather a physical reaction as a result of carbon dioxide gas reacting to the hard surface of the mentos. Following the experiment, the children were excited to think of other ways to test this physical reaction
