# Urban Base Week 1

Week 1 of Urban Base was enjoyed by all of year 6, even the adults. We had a range of activities to choose from including: BMX biking, skateboarding, canoeing, archery and rock climbing. Literacy

Read the copy of the Highwayman and discuss it home with you family. Answer the questions at the bottom of the poem hand-outs. A page has been included for you to put your work.

Numeracy

Mr Cameron – solve the worksheets about capacity and volume.

Miss Lynch – design your own catchphrase power point. Choose your own theme-needs to be different from class. You can draw it on a sheet like you have done in class. I have also put a template below and you can use that if you prefer. If you choose to do a power point, bring it into school on a usb key to be corrected.

Topic

Research different types of famous bridges around the world. Choose 2 and write a paragraph about each. When were they made? What were they made of? What was their function (purpose)? Did they have any interesting design features?
