Year 5 had great fun this week exploring the solubility of different solids in liquids.
We investigated the solubility of sugar, salt and sand in water. Most groups found that the salt and sugar dissolved in the liquid, forming a solution, whereas the sand didn’t dissolve at all.
Interestingly however, some groups found that their salt and sugar didn’t dissolve, which led to a very interesting discussion about saturated solutions.
We have some very curious, budding scientists in Year 5! Keep it up, everyone 🙂
