Homework

Hi,

Last week we were learning the grid method. Please find the questions attached and answer into your book. If you/your child are not too sure on how to work them out please look here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/maths/number/multiplication/read/4/

With the grid questions please allow your child to use a times table chart if needed, or write the table out on the side.

Please also write an explanation text as this is what we are doing next week.

Thanks,

Mr Everden and Mrs Patel

Year 3 Autumn Homework 23-11

Year 3 homework

In Maths this week we have been practising adding and subtracting 2 digit and 3 digit numbers. Work out the sums provided with a method you have learnt in class. Please present your work neatly.

In addition please practise your timetables and your number bonds.

Lets get ready for Christmas! For english you need to think about your favourite questions answer joke.(maybe one you might have pulled out from a christmas cracker) Ask friends and family what their favourite question and answer joke is. Choose your favourite joke and write it out neatly (make sure it is not rude!) Practice reading your joke aloud so you can share it with the class.

Practice your spellings. look at the spelling pattern to help you (un-prefix, the prefix un- has a negative meaning) Write sentences in your book for each spelling. Don’t forget there will be a spelling test on monday!

Remember spellings should be practiced daily.

Handwriting this week is uoerd

Lest We Forget

This week we have been thinking about all those who lost their lives in wars.

We talked about what it means to us and why we use the poppy.

We then made poppies out of crate paper ensuring the leaf is at 11 o’clock.

Can anyone tell me why it has to point to 11 o’clock?

Year 3 Mass

Last week we had a lovely school mass within the hall. Father Keith delivered the mass beautifully and he children read their reading very well.
