We went on an amazing trip all the way to Chelmsford in Essex to visit 2 farms. We got a coach there which was lots of fun! We arrived at the first farm, Parklands Farm, and all we could see was fields of crops for miles! We met Farmer Christy and she took us on a tour of her farm. We walked through all of the crops and saw wheat, barley and lots of hazelnut trees! It was so muddy and we loved walking through big muddy puddles in our wellies! Then Farmer Christy showed us her barn with the biggest tractor we had ever seen hidden inside. The barn was filled with grain that Farmer Christy would grind to make flour!
After lunch we got back in our coach and drove to the second farm, Lathcoats Farm, and met Farmer Phil. This was a fruit farm and Farmer Phil showed us around. We saw strawberries, raspberries, black currants, red currants, blackberries, gooseberries, plums and apples. We even got to pick and eat some strawberries and raspberries – we had to make sure they were ripe. They were delicious!
To finish our trip off we visited some animals. We saw a baby goat, which is called a kid, and lots of other farmyard animals. We got to stroke them but had to make sure we washed our hands properly after. It was so much fun!
